About us

Creating a society
where you can pursue
who you are, safely

What does it mean to be yourself,
and what does it take to pursue that?
The times keep changing, and so do people's values.
We believe in a society that is not bound by
ready-made answers or inherited frameworks —
one where each person can find what they truly want.

At Luna, we do not deny how anyone thinks or feels.
We build places where people can explore
who they are, safely.

We respect diverse values and individuality,
and we support each person in finding
and walking their own path.

Through transparency and innovation, we widen
what the future can hold, and back as many ways
of living as there are people.
That is Luna's mission, and our promise.

“Create a society where people can pursue who they are, safely.” That is why I founded Luna Inc., and it is the society we are working toward.

Pursuing who you are is usually talked about in the context of work. But if we are going to talk about work-life balance, the life side deserves the same weight. At the center of life there is often a marriage, a partner, a relationship with someone very close. Before the large societies of a company or a country, there is the smallest society of all — the one you build with just one or two other people. I believe that is where a person can feel safe enough to be themselves.

I think that human beings are, fundamentally, kept alive by desire. Alongside the basic drives of sleep, food and sex, there is the wish to be recognized, the wish to be loved by someone, the wish to express oneself. The forms differ, but all of us are moved by some kind of desire. And behind that desire there is almost always something underneath that we want to fill. To fill a loneliness. To confirm that we exist. To have someone accept us exactly as we are. What surfaces as desire is only a small part of what lies beneath it. What we care about at Luna is precisely that deeper layer.

People accumulate a great deal of experience as they live. A view seen in childhood, a lonely night, something that made them happy, a feeling they could never say out loud. Decades of that build up in layers, like a mille-feuille, and out of it a person is made. Living in society, we all have to wear a social mask to some degree. But at least inside the smallest, most private society — there, we could take the mask off, find the courage to show a little of what we have kept hidden, and receive what the other person reveals without denying it. If we had a society where both sides made that effort, I think there would be more happy people in it.

Luna Inc. was built out of that conviction. kink and fetish have long been treated as things you cannot tell anyone, and pushed outside of society. Yet what cannot be said is often one of the most important layers of the person. What Luna works on is refusing to deny that layer — and continuing to build places where people can face it safely and connect with someone else. We are working toward a future in which being able to pursue who you are is not special, but ordinary.

Together with everyone who shares Luna's mission, we will keep engaging with this subject honestly and keep building a new shape for society. We look forward to your continued support.
